Hussain Sajwani is a graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2002 he founded DAMAC Properties a residential real estate development company. He took advantage of a government decree which allowed foreigners to own property in the emirates. He is the Chairman of DAMAC Properties.
The DAMAC Owner started his career as a Contract Manager in GASCO which is a subsidiary of ADNOC. Being a self-driven individual, he established his own business. In 1982 he started a catering venture. The company known as Global Logistics Services supplied U.S. troops in Iraq and Kuwait. The company today works majorly with oil companies in the Middle East and has grown from humble beginnings to managing more than 200 projects and serving over 150,000 meals a day. Today DAMAC Properties has grown to one of the biggest property development companies in the Middle East. The company was established after Mr. Sajwani Saw an opportunity in the residential real estate industry. It was brought about by an influx people coming to the emirate for business. Mr. Sajwani has sold his first 38-story residential building in less than six months. The event was before construction had even started. Mr. Sajwani is also heavily involved in philanthropy. He recently handed over a cheque of 2million Dirhams to a campaign for clothing a million deprived children around the world. The Ramadan drive was started by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice president and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
